Throughout the year, The Painted Turtle enjoys hosting and participating in special events at camp and in our local communities. These events help us raise awareness and funding for The Painted Turtle camp and its campers and their families.

	LA 5K and Honda LA Marathon-March 17 and 18, 2012 Join our team of runners, walkers, and wheelers as they take on the LA 5K and Honda LA Marathon this spring. Challenge yourself to complete the full 26.2 mile marathon distance as it winds from Dodger Stadium throughout Los Angeles and finishes in beautiful Santa Monica. New this year is the opportunity to be a part of a two-person marathon team! Find a partner who will run 13.1 miles from the start to a "transition zone" and hand off to your partner who will complete the remaining miles. This is only available to runners participating as part of a charity team! If a walk or shorter run is more your speed, come be a part of the LA 5K!
